About this pro

How does your business stand out?

Our mission at Motor City Center for Hope is to create a professional yet peaceful, authentic and caring environment dedicated to treating each individual served as a unique being. We strive to rebuild hope not only in our clients but also in the community as a whole. Individual, family group counseling and life coaching is provided by skilled clinicians committed to ethical practices while always respecting the diverse social, religious, and cultural identities within the community served. One big advantage to MCCH is that we respect your time and know it's important. Thus, we guarantee NO WAIT TIME! We strategically schedule our appointments to ensure there is never an overlap and nobody ever has to wait even 2 minutes beyond their scheduled appointment time. There are no crowded lobbies, no wait time, and no violation of privacy as you're the only person being seen at your given time. Another big advantage is limited paperwork. Whereas some places spend an hour filling out paperwork and completing mandatory forms, we spend approximately 5 minutes and begin treatment your very first session. Again, your time is important and we strive to make every minute count.

What do you enjoy about the work you do?

We are working toward rebuilding hope in Detroit one person at a time! We believe in Detroit and the people in and around Detroit. It would have been easier and more financially beneficial to open a practice in the suburbs, yet our passion is in the city. Our focus is the city, and we love the city! Therapy is provided by a LMSW with approximately 20 years of experience who specialize in depression, anxiety, trauma, and healing from abuse. Although numerous approaches are used based upon client need, primary therapeutic techniques used are EMDR, motivational interviewing, and psychodynamic. Call and schedule an appointment today!

Currently acceptingValue Options, Total Health Care, Blue Cross, Medicare, Priority Health, Medicaid Meridian, Medicaid Molia, Medicaid Blue Cross Complete and Multiplan. What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The initial session (referred to by some as intake) takes about an hour and it's during this session we work collaboratively with a new client to explore history, identify needs and goals for treatment, and develop the course of treatment.

Fully licensed Clinical and Macro Social Worker with no disciplinary or ethical violations.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
Truly believe social work and helping others is the best profession ever!
What types of customers have you worked with?
Specialize in trauma and abuse as well as mental health issues, yet also work with a lot of couples and families. Everyone could benefit from counseling at some point in his/her life.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Experience and credentials are crucial. I recommend looking for a fully licensed professional.
What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
What specifically do you want to gain from therapy? Knowing your desired outcome will help you and your therapist develop a treatment plan that will help you achieve your goals in the least amount of time.
