FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
When first working with someone new I like to get to know their relationship with makeup. I ALWAYS ask what type of look they're going for and what their skin type is. From there I ask more specific things like what colors they like to wear, what colors they dislike, if there's any facial features they'd like to enhance, etc.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I started doing makeup when I was around 15 years old. I loved playing with it and applying it on myself because it gave me the chance to be creative. Once I started really perfecting my techniques I had friends and family constantly asking me to do their own makeup. That's when it all sort of clicked that I could actually do what I love for a living!
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Make sure they are an excellent listener! Makeup looks are all about what YOU have in mind. While it is sometimes fun to have an artist create their own vision for your look, it really boils down to how you want to feel.
