FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Jobs under 3 hours are typically $150 plus tax. Computer lessons or software lessons are $75/hr. I can be flexible with price. If you need your computer fixed now and do not have that I can still make it work for you.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First I like to meet and greet get to know the customer and how they use their computers. Next I inquire about what problems they are experiencing and what were they doing when the problem arose. After getting an idea of what is happening I will explain to them what is required to fix the computer and how much it will cost. Then I get to work. After the computer is up and running again I have the customer repeat what they were doing when the problem occurred to make sure it has been fully resolved. After that I thank them and be on my way. Lastly I wait a week or two and call or email the customer to see if everything is still working as expected.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I started when I was young. I used to poke around in the family computer to learn how it worked. Most of the time my poking around broke the computer. This was the only computer we had so I had to learn how to fix my mistakes real quick so others could use it. Luckily nowadays I can break virtual machines or test new scenarios with no risk of doing damage to my real computer. Since that point I have been teaching myself all about how and why computers work. After friends and family figured out I could fix their computers they all started asking me to come over and fix theirs.
