FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
We charge by the labor hour. One labor hour costs $60.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The first thing we do is determine whether or not the piece of furniture is antique piece, a vintage piece or a modern piece. This helps us to determine the best course of action to take, as well as the appropriate materials needed, to complete the repair. After that has been completed, we like to get an idea of the customers vision for their piece, and try to use our skills in craftsmanship to accommodate them.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
We apprenticed under a restorer for several years learning the basics of repair and restoration as well as wood species identification and material selection. This early base of knowledge that was given to us was instrumental to our growth as craftsman. Furniture and antique restoration is a dying art that not many people get to learn. There are very few schools in the world teaching what we do!
