Process was very easy with Nation Capital. I moved from a 1 bed apt in DC to a 2 bed townhouse in Rockville. The movers came in and packed all my stuff, double wrapped items, took stuff apart, and helped me dispose of a few items in my building in a relatively short amount of time. I was billed for a total of 6 hours, but it felt like it went faster than that. I was really grateful to have my bed, desk, and kitchen table put back together by the movers. I thought I got a good price from Justin and the movers were impressive.

This has been one of my best customer service experiences with any company!! I found Nation Capital Moving on Thumbtack. They were the first moving company to respond to my request and did so almost immediately after I submitted it. From that point on, I received professional service of the highest degree. They were able to provide me with a comprehensive summary of what they offer and how they could best assist me with my move. Their representative came directly to my residence prior to my move date and gave a full inspection, as well as face-to-face discussion on what had previously been discussed through Thumbtack. Normally they handle very large accounts and have successfully completed moves much more intensive than mine. I received a HUGE discount from what they normally charge. The day of the move went off without a hitch!!! I was not as prepared as I would have liked to be but they accommodated my every request and were incredibly forbearing and patient in all circumstances. They even disassembled and reassembled my furniture items. I could not be more happy with Nation Capital Moving and I will absolutely use them again in the future for all my moving needs!

We hired Nation Capital Moving for a local move with a very short turnaround time - we contacted them on a Thursday for a move the following Monday, as that was the earliest we could move into our new house and we needed to be out of our old house by the following Wednesday. Justin contacted me and set up a free in-home estimate within 24 hours of my request. Peter, the Operations Manager, visited my home, took stock of what needed to move and gave me an estimate. I was looking at multiple providers as options, and Peter negotiated with me for what we both considered to be a fair price. In addition to packing and moving our house, we needed to move items that were in a storage unit. Our estimate factored in services for both locations, and Peter provided a binding, not to exceed price. On moving day, Monday, Peter showed up half hour early with 3 other men - Vlad, Santos and Roberto. When they arrived, all paperwork for closing on the new house had been completed but we were still waiting on the keys. We decided to proceed with getting items onto the truck and Peter and his team got to work. They worked efficiently, with two men staying at the house to pack, while the others went to the storage unit to load the truck. Ultimately, a minor administrative hiccup prevented us from getting the keys on Monday and Peter was extremely flexible in storing our items at their truck overnight and returning the following day to complete the move. Obviously, this was not factored into our original estimate, but Peter honored the original labor estimate, charging us only an additional fee for storage and travel time for the second day of service. They returned on Tuesday afternoon with our items and helped us successfully complete our move - unloading boxes into the appropriate rooms, reassembling furniture at the new house and ensuring that we were satisfied with their service before they left. I accidentally gave Peter $100 extra in cash when I was paying the final fee, and he brought the error to my attention and returned the overage. I am so pleased with the service we received from Nation Capital Moving and would hire them again! They are diligent, hardworking, and honest and communication throughout the entire move was great! Thank you so much for making what was already a stressful situation that much easier.

They were very good. I moved from my studio apt in Maryland to Texas. Peter was always in touch and very responsive throughout the move. They disassembled and reassmbled my furniture well. They take a walk through before picking up which I think really helps to go over any details. All in all, it was a pretty smooth process, and they pretty much took care of everything. Also, decent prices.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The process is very easy! Once we've gotten to know each other, we will review your inventory and build the estimate. If you reside 100 miles from our home base, we request that you fill out an inventory sheet to begin the process and we can schedule a in-home visual visit to confirm our numbers. Once we have your pertinent moving information, we will provide you with an estimate and discuss what will be necessary to earn your business.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Our movers and moving consultants are certified by AMSA. Every month we have a Safe Driving Fitness Program. We also have daily meetings on safety and quality control.
