Introduction: I have been tutoring for almost a decade. I began in high school as an AVID tutor, where I helped my peers prepare for college. Then I went on to UC Berkeley, where I majored in Applied Mathematics and minored in Math and Science Education. I completed CalTeach, Berkeley’s program for STEM majors interested in education, through which I volunteered over a hundred hours assistant-teaching around the Bay Area. I tutored various levels of math in local middle and high schools. At this time, I was also working at UC Berkeley’s Student Learning Center as a writing tutor. I guided a very diverse set of students through the stages of academic essay writing. Many of my students were ESL or differently-abled. In addition, I briefly worked for Khan Academy, creating original, interactive math problems for their online quiz modules. I am currently working part time for Elite Tutoring, an agency through which I provide in-home K-12 math and reading comprehension tutoring. Finally, for the last 6 years, I have privately tutored middle and high school students in math, reading, writing, and SAT preparation. I have extensive experience with students from all different backgrounds and abilities.
There is nothing more gratifying than equipping someone with the tools to succeed. I love helping people hone their problem-solving skills.
