Introduction: You may know me from my design work throughout the Greater Chicago area as well as a familiar face on HGTV. Currently, I am the Lead Interior Designer at my very own residential interior design firm located in the northern suburbs of Chicago; the highly successful TIffany Brooks Interiors. We specialize in luxury residential design. Our design projects and expertise have been featured in various media outlets such as House Beautiful, HGTV Magazine, CS Interiors, Essence, Domino and Architectural Digest. Armed with over 10 years experience in Residential Real Estate in Chicago and the North Shore, I launched my namesake interior design firm in 2007. Since then, we have completed residential design projects in homes and boutiques across cities in the Chicagoland area, including Barrington, Lincoln Park, Wilmette, Glencoe, Northbrook, Highland Park, Lake Forest, Kenilworth, and Hinsdale. Since being celebrated nationally on the African American Top 20 Interior Designers list, we have expanded our design project portfolio to include celebrity clientele located in various areas such as Los Angeles, Atlanta, New York and other locations across the country. Upon inception of my relationship with HGTV, I’ve made several media appearances on television, in person, the web and in print; including an invitation by the network to be the lead interior designer and host of the popular HGTV Smart Home Giveaway series. My firm’s mission is to create stunning living environments that encompass your individual needs and unique style. I hired Tiffany to do a make over to my apartment as a 50th birthday present to myself. The entire process of selections, shopping, design took about 5-6 months. She had everything perfectly installed 2 days before my 50th. I have not moved 1 vase since she left! I am buying a home now and she was my first call to design it once I got the keys!

My dad hired Miss Tiffany to redo my bedroom when I turned 14 this year. They surprised me for my birthday. All I can say is wow! When I open the door I immediately fell to the floor started crying I had no idea that they Re-design my room. And as a bonus when I came home Miss Tiffany was still there to see my reaction. I like watching her on HGTV and she also signed magazines and took a picture for me. It was cool! I still have the picture frame to my room. And out of all my friends I have the best room everybody likes to hang out there. Miss Tiffany is the best.

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

    Redesigning your home is an investment of both time and money. It can be very stressful. For larger projects, we strive to reduce stress by using a transparent, value-based method of billing that clearly outlines the process, installation, timeline and fees. In most design projects, our hourly fees range between $95-$220 per hour, depending on the member of our design team that is taking the lead on your project. We are usually able to give an estimate of the needed design hours up front. This way, everyone involved can focus on being 100% creative and not watching an imaginary project clock. You know exactly what you are paying for and how to budget for it, before the work has even begun.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

    Interior design is so much more than simply buying furniture. Changing your home also means changing your life. Sometimes, it can be downright scary. It takes creative problem solving, planning, budgeting, and successful communication to turn your house into a home. My goal is to build a long-term relationship with you. In fact, a designer/owner relationship is a lot like a romance. But instead of falling in love with me, you’ll be falling in love with your living space. So here is how it works in four easy steps: STEP 1::: I meet with you and your family and learn more about you. Don’t clean up! I need to see how you really live. It’s not just about making it pretty; it’s also about making it functional. It’s my job to connect you with what makes you comfortable and map out the overall vision for your home. Working together, we sort out a time line and budget. Then we put it all in writing to give you a clear idea about how the whole thing will go. STEP 2::: During this phase we’ll assess your home in great detail. I start refining a plan for your final approval. This plan includes: conceptual sketches, proposed floor plans, furniture suggestions, and recommendations for textiles, wall treatments, window coverings, flooring, and other materials for your project. In this step you will be able to visalize your design, and how your home will come together. STEP 3::: After the final design plan is approved we then set the final budget and begin the purchasing and procurement phase. I request fabrication of custom pieces and order the other furnishings as outlined in our plan. I keep close tabs on the process and keep you up to date. And then the exciting part, we set the date! STEP 4::: My team thoroughly inspects each piece of new furniture and gets it ready for the installation. They will also start painting, based on the color schemes we’ve picked out. When the house is ready, we firm up the delivery date for furnishings, window treatments, and area rugs. I am present at time of delivery to direct placement and installation of each item in its designated place. A second installation for lamps and accessories typically follows the primary delivery of furniture and other large items. And then the magic happens: the walkthrough of your newly completed space. This is the part of the job that I love the most. Tears, laughter and jumping up and down. It’s filled with emotion as you discover the home you always dreamed of, right there at your fingertips. I’ll admit, I keep a box of Kleenex handy for myself as I watch your dreams come to life.
