FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Teaching rates start at $60/hr. Basic sewing projects can be quoted at a flat rate. Larger and more complex projects are quoted as time and materials.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
My typical process for working with new clients is to get a good understanding of the project they are requesting, as well as any budget or time constraints to be aware of. Based on the clients responses I can finalize a quote for services. If this works well for the client, we coordinate a meeting time to pick-up materials and/or take measurements. My quote generally includes an expected delivery date. I communicate with the client throughout the creation process. Depending on the type of item there may be 1-2 fittings the client will need to attend. When the client's items are ready for delivery, we coordinate a pick-up/drop-off. At this time the customer can review the items created. After delivery the client is asked to give a review for my profile.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I've been trained as a pattern drafter, seamstress, and fashion designer. I attended FIDM in SF as well as having a BS in Business Management. I'm a skilled sewing educator and teach private and groups lessons.
