Introduction: Welcome to Willow Health and Performance! We have a passion for helping people reach their health and fitness goals. Based in Dublin, (with a second office in Grandview for nutrition clients) I provide personal training, nutrition coaching, sports conditioning and rehab and corrective exercise assistance for those in central Ohio. I have extensive experience working with many different types of people, from athletes to weekend warriors, and everything we do is designed specifically for each client. If you are interested in improving your athletic performance, weight loss, healthy eating, or learning more about a specific fitness topic, you've come to the right place! My career in the health and fitness industry began when I attended the National Personal Training Institute and worked as a personal trainer for 5+ years. Because of my mixed passion for fitness and nutrition, I attended the Ohio State University to earn a Bachelor's degree in Human Nutrition and Dietetics graduating magna cum laude. After graduating from Ohio State I went on to complete my dietetic internship through Iowa State University and earn the credential of Registered Dietitian. I then became a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association and a Certified LEAP Therapist for food sensitivities. I have had the opportunity to work with clients of all different types, including collegiate athletes, high school and middle school athletes, weekend warriors, those trying to lose or gain weight, those trying to enhance performance, and those working through injury. I have had the pleasure to present my knowledge and experience to groups including college students, adult sports clubs, and the recreationally active. I am passionate about helping people reach their athletic, fitness, and health goals in order to gain confidence in themselves to be able to pursue their dreams and the things they want to achieve in life. I enjoy working with anyone interested in bettering their health and willing to put in hard work to reach their goals. I strive to continually learn and better my practice in order to bring the best advice possible to my clients so I have recently started a Master's Degree in Dietetics. I have a passion for fitness and staying active. I compete in the sport of Olympic Weightlifting and take every advantage I can to get outside. I enjoy kayaking, hiking, traveling, and gardening in my free time.

Willow Health and Performance is a very unique business. Alyssa and Brian really have a great vision for their goals for their clients. Alyssa and I have been working together on nutrition. For me, I have had a horrible relationship with food and really wanted to learn how to properly fuel my body again. Alyssa truly helped with that. For over 2 years I have struggled with weight gain from constant dieting and binge eating. Alyssa has showed me how to gain a better relationship with food through intuitive eating. I am so incredibly thankful for Alyssa helping me learn how to love my body again and not be so afraid of every bite I take! Thanks Willow Health and Performance!

Somewhere along the line I got old. I used to eat whatever I wanted without any real consequences. That has definitely changed. Years of eating like crap and beer had taken its toll. When I met Alyssa I had determined to turn this around. I was eating healthy food. I was exercising. But I wasn't loosing any weight. The truth is I had no idea how much I was eating and was still making some bad choices. And beer. Anyhow, Alyssa took the time to have an in depth discussion with me about diet and nutrition. She is very knowledgeable, down to earth, and she called BS on me when I got out of line. I do that occasionally. She then gave me the tools to get my eating under control. I have completely changed how I look at food. At first things were great. I was full and I was losing weight. Then I increased my exercise and I was getting hungry at night. After an evaluation Alyssa made several suggestions and things are great again. I realize that weight loss and becoming healthy is a journey that will last the rest of my life. It is good to have Alyssa as a guide to help me through the rough spots.

I've been so happy with my experience! The initial consultation was very thorough and I felt Alyssa was truly interested in helping me make better decisions about food. I loved the fact that she continued to reiterate that if I did not like what I was eating, this was not going to work. After 2-3 months, I feel much better after eating and feel like I am getting better about selecting foods to eat, regardless of the situation. Providing me with sample menus for a day has been so helpful - it has made all the adjustments that much easier. I think it is understandable that people are reluctant to meet with a nutritionist - fear of eating foods you won't enjoy is real! However, that is not the case with Alyssa; she helps me select foods that I like and/or that I've come to like! I've experienced having more energy, better workouts and weight loss over the past 2-3 months.

Alyssa has helped me understand optimal nutrition for weightlifting training as well as prioritizing my digestive issues. Alyssa went above and beyond to help find solutions and changes that I can make to not only improve my athletic performance but my health as well. In addition to her professionalism, Alyssa is invested in my success, communicates extremely well, and is a pleasure to work with!

I have enjoyed working with Alyssa. These days you hear so many conflicting opinions on proper nutrition and eating to improve your performance in the gym. She has helped me cut through the nonsense and streamline my nutrition. A side benefit is the money saved on useless supplements and excess food portions which were not needed. Things are much more manageable with my personal goals. I feel great and am looking forward to seeing how things progress in the future
