FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I always work within a 90 minute session and charge a flat fee of $75 per session. I do not take insurance at this time. I receive checks or cash payments only at this time.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
In our first meeting I will have some intake forms for you to fill out and that shouldn't take so much time to do. We usually spend up to 90 minutes in every session and in the first session, besides getting acquainted, we will spend some time discussing what your goals are for being in therapy. I will possibly extract some issue or problem that seems important to deal with that first visit and ask if we can start from there. I will often give the clients exercises to participate in during the time away from our sessions (or, homework) so that when we meet again, there will be some successes and possible slip ups to work with. In our efforts to find what matters most to each member, we will collaborate on a goal that is attainable by the next session, and on from there.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a professional license to practice Marriage and Family Therapy as associate and have an undergraduate degree in Expressive Arts as Therapy. I have worked with couples and families and blended step mom and step dad families. I have also worked with many other issues, depression, anxiety, sexual abuse, different types of mental disorders, ADD/ADHD, bipolar, personality disorders from young children to adults.
