I hired Ed De La Garza to edit my most recent novel. From the very first contact he showed an interest in adding value to the project. Not just with his words - with his actions. He never treated it or me as if this was just one of many projects. He worked late into the night to help me meet my deadline. He knew it was important to me and so he made it important to him. As a result he not only checked spelling and grammar and typos and punctuation but went the extra mile - he checked facts and questioned aspects which helped me tighten the story and helped to make it a better read. He was neither the lowest bidder nor the highest bidder - he was fair and honest and in my opinion, that is what counts. I plan to call upon him again and again. He is the kind of professional that I think could work his way through any obstacle. I would recommend him highly to any writer without reservation. On a scale of one to five he is well past ten! As a freelance journalist who has written for the Los Angeles Times, USA Today and the Houston Chronicle, among other publications, I can wholeheartedly recommend Ed for any writing and editing needs. He has long served as a mentor and trusted editor for me, and is meticulous, creative and thorough when it comes to the craft. - Josh GajewskiDec 8, 2016
Ed designed the most incredible invitations for me! He is as brilliant with words as he is with presentation and illustration! Amazing! I couldn't be happier:)Dec 8, 2016

- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?Normal price for editing is 2 cents per word. However, to attract more clients, I'll typically edit a project for a penny per word here.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?I prefer receiving the document in Word format, and I'll email the client with any questions as the work progresses.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I was an English major with a concentration in creative writing. I was also the editor in chief of my college newspaper, and have freelanced as a writer and copy editor since then.
