Tobie Oidtmann MA, LPC, CHt
About this pro
One of my pre-teen sons had difficulty controlling his anger and had frequent outbursts. He also had his feelings hurt very easily and this caused him to strike out at others. We read all the books and tried everything. We discovered what he needed was support from us and counseling/therapy from someone that he could feel comfortable with and felt free to talk about how he felt. He made great progress working with Tobie and he enjoyed his visits with her. On occasion, we had family sessions with Tobie that involved the whole family. These helped to clear up some of the tension that had built up and gave us a way to work on creating a happier family.Jul 31, 2017
In couples counseling Tobie is focuses on solutions by providing tools to use. Tobie instills a deep sense of trust, caring and competence in dealing with the matters at hand. My wife and I have also had a couple of individual cellular release hypnosis sessions with great results. I'd recommend Tobie to anyone.Jul 5, 2017
I always left feeling better when I left than when I walked in. No matter how long since our last visit, Tobie always picked right up wherever we left off. She is a dear friend, a counselor, cheerleader and a lighthouse in a storm when you're treading water as fast as you can.Jul 30, 2017
Tobie is an excellent counselor and clinician. Her ability to provide guidance on sensitive issues is spot on! She is solution oriented, personable, and very knowledgeable. I value her experience, wisdom, and client rapport.Jul 27, 2017
After trying out numerous therapists to treat my 17 year old daughter's anxiety, Tobie Oidtmann saved the day! She was different than the other counselors/therapists we tried; not only was she really easy for my daughter to talk with, she also gave my daughter tangible exercises to do at home that really worked. Tobie is so warm and genuine that it really put my daughter at ease. I highly recommend Tobie to anyone who needs help.Jul 23, 2017

- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?Pricing varies depending on the type of service. There may be sliding-scale pricing available.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?Typically, I speak with the new client by telephone before we meet in person to find out what the client wants or needs to work on. I ask the client to arrive 15 minutes early to fill out paperwork. From the information given in the telephone call and the paperwork, I am ready to provide the client a full sixty-minute session where we can begin our work. I think it is important to know that we will work together to progress and that there will often be laughter and fun in our sessions.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I have a bachelor’s degree from Texas Tech. After a corporate career and raising my children, I decided to go back to school and obtained a Master of Arts degree in General Clinical Psychology. I wanted to add hypnosis to my services, so also I completed a PATH Foundation hypnosis certification requiring more than 300 hours of training.
