- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I price each dog based on size, hair type and length, and overall condition of the coat. Extra fees for matting, fleas, special handling, and/or other all-a cart items. Each groom includes: bath, nail trim, ear cleaning and plucking, brushing, and a haircut if needed.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Every time I meet a new customer I like to greet their dog and get to know them, looking over their coat I suggest anything I belive will be best for them and their pet. I also like to talk about the haircut and go over any specific details so I can make their pup look and feel great. Most dogs don't see their groomer on a regular basis so I like to make them as comfortable as possible, so that they enjoy themselves and are happy to return.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I grew up in a dog grooming salon, my grandmother owned it and both of my parents groomed there, I helped out whenever I wasn't in school. When I went out on my own I started at petsmart and went through their dog groomer training program and worked there for about 2 years. I have also completed an online course for animal psychology by Holly and Hugo.
