- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We generally proceed along the lines of: 1. Initial inquiry 2. Initial general overview/discussion – usually 10-30 minutes in person on the telephone or in person to discuss general concepts, services, possible general solutions based on your look and direction, maybe general budget discussions. 3. A more “formal appointment” which detailed list of floral needs, descriptions, and solutions are discussed and detailed pricing can be determined. 4. At the appointment, your comfort level and intent to move forward is discussed. If you want to proceed with a formal written descriptive, detailed and priced proposal we generally get a $50.00 deposit. With all of our experience, we feel it necessary to get a reasonable commitment before putting all of our ideas and design expertise into writing. The deposit is applied to the wedding order.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
McNamara Florist is a full-service florist. This means in addition to all of your floral needs we also have a variety of rental props such as arches, candelabras and pedestals. We pride ourselves on offering customized props and décor. We can also provide a large selection of plants to help set the perfect mood for your wedding. We offer delivery, set-up and tear-down. Ask one of our designers to help guide you through your options.
- What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
When Should I Start Consulting With The Design Professional? Once colors, the theme, your gown and your bridesmaid dresses are decided for your wedding, you are ready to make your floral choices. Ideally, it’s a good idea to choose your wedding flowers 6-9 months before the big day. If your wedding date falls near a holiday, then consider ordering sooner because we sometimes need to limit the number of weddings we handle on busy holidays. I Don't Know Anything About Flowers. Can You Help Me? Yes! We are happy to listen to you and will offer suggestions and direction. Our designers have extensive training in floral design and décor. They are up-to date with the current trends and styles and will know how to incorporate them into your wedding design. Your designs will be completely customized for your wedding but you can look at our Pinterest page for some ideas and inspiration. Keep track of what you like and dislike. We want you to feel confident with your decisions and help make your special day beautiful. What Flowers Are In Season For The Month I’m Getting Married? Many flowers are available throughout the year; however, there are some that are only available in specific seasons. Please keep in mind that if they are out of season the price may increase. Our wedding consultants will know which flowers are available and whether or not we can special order them if they are “out of season”. They are happy to show you the best substitutions and make recommendations if needed for your special day. When Will The Flowers Be Delivered? The McNamara Florist event team will work with you and/or your wedding planner and the venue to deliver and set up prior to the ceremony and reception. You will know at least one week in advance when/where your flowers will be delivered as long as we are kept abreast of times and dates as they change. We will work with you whether you need them delivered to your home, church or reception hall. Will My Flowers Last All Day? We will advise you how to care for your flowers as well as give you general flower care information based on the types of arrangements you choose. Flowers are delicate and naturally sensitive to bruises and temperature changes. If you are planning a winter wedding you need to be especially careful. At 32 degrees or less, flowers can freeze and become discolored and damaged. We will work with you to make sure your flowers stay beautiful all day long. Can You Work Within My Budget? Our designers and sales consultants will be attentive to your wedding apparel and theme, flower preferences, the season of the year and of course, your budget. Each flower has a different value, but our sales consultant will work with you to come up with the best combination with your budget in mind. After your consultation we will give you a proposal with a detailed description and cost breakdown for each element.
