I love mac computers but for my work I have to use software that are windows based, such as ArcGIS. Vasileios was able to install windows on my mac and as a result I am able to switch between mac and windows with the click of a button. Also he took the initiative to clean my computer and runs a lot faster! Last but not least his prices were very reasonable considering what other people asked for the same job, and he took his time to make sure my computer was up to speed. I really liked the fact that he did not try to sell me or offer me services so he can make more money. Instead he tried to find the best solution for my needs,and I never felt pressured. Highly recommended!

I am always ill at ease when I am forced to allow other people into my inner circle, like when I have to have my computer worked on; it contains so many private writings and other data no one uninvited should have access to! While I had good reason at the moment, I would have made up an excuse to go to him or meet elsewhere other than my home. I chose Vasileios Karantzavelos because of his previous professional experience in the field.I figured he was doing this on the side because in our current economy, even some of the best qualified remain unemployed. I was betting he was one! My fears were unfounded! Vasileios was very personable; his body language told me I had made a very good decision. As he worked on my computer, and we talked, my trust in him grew. I also discovered my hunch about him was correct. He was extremely knowledgeable in an area I must confess I am not. His openness made for easy conversation. Because my laptop was so heavily infected, I needed to leave it with him; it was going to be a long while before he could clean it completely. Vasileios did a magnificent job! Even better, was the time he spent showing what he had done, and what he had installed to prevent future attacks. He also gave a few instructions to help prevent opening my computer to future attacks. When it came to payment for a job well done, he still requested the amount quoted, even though the original quote was for no more than a couple of hours worth of work. This is the first time I have used Thumbtack for anything. I am grateful my first experience was so positive, but I have to say that I will not be using Thumbtack for computer repair again; thanks to this time, I have my own personal IT man for my future needs.   • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

    -Asking basic questions to Identify how the nature the issue and how is that affect the client. -Then I examine the device, first physical then the operating system and trying to find more information how i can solve the issue as fast as possible. - At the end I will talk to the client and explain whats happening and why and how in the future can that issue be avoided.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

    I have CompTIA A+ Certification and CompTIA Security+ Certification and completed the courses for the Cisco CCNA.

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

    I stared as a hobby a long time ago and i realized that i love what I do. So the hobby became my profession.
