FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Content marketing services (blogs and articles) are priced at .10 cents per word. Web content marketing is 75$ for the homepage and 45$ for each additional page. There is one round of edits included, with each edit thereafter having a fee of 25$ for full page edits/rewrites and 15$ per page for half page edits/rewrites. Copy editing (grammar, punctuation, tense, ect...) can be judged at .02 cents per word or $30-$50 an hour depending on the extent of editing required, complexity of the piece, and number of pages. Line editing (creative content, writing style, and language use) is judged at .03 cents per word or $50-$60 per hour, depending on the extent of editing required, complexity of the piece, and number of pages. Content editing (the whole package) is judged at .05 cents per word or $50 per hour, depending on the extent of editing required, complexity of the piece, and number of pages. For all hourly rates, editor agrees to keep track of all time spent working on the project on time sheet to give client understanding of where the hours are being spent. It is up to the editor's discretion to decide on a reasonable price for additional edits that manuscript/web content may require.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
This depends on the service being provided. For SEO articles, blogs, and web content I will generate a questionnaire to be answered prior to me beginning work. This creates efficiency and helps cut back on waiting for constant communication, which often slows the process down. For manuscript editing, I will ask to see the first three to five chapters of the manuscript to get a clear idea of what level of editing will be required and how much time will be needed.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a bachelor of arts degree in English literature from San Diego State University (Go Aztecs!) and a masters degree in professional writing from the University of Southern California (Go Trojans!). I have experience and training in editing both non fiction and fiction manuscripts that have gone into print. Finally, I have extensive training in SEO (on and off page), social media, email, and content marketing from my time spent in an Internet marketing company in southern California. My content marketing credentials include writing for 10-12 blogs, multiple articles, and web content.
