FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My standard fee is $35/hr (based on tutoring high school English). However, this price may vary depending on travel time, subjects/grade level tutored, number of sessions, materials needed and any other unforseen expenses. I would be happy to discuss this and create a pricing package that specifically meets your needs.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Before even meeting it's important that we first establish your goals and expectations. From there, we would discuss a variety of methods to help you achieve these goals. Then, upon our first session, I would come prepared with the materials necessary to begin. It's important to also note that not every student learns in the same way. For example, some students do better using visuals, while others may find it more helpful to take a hands on approach (kinaestetic) or use a listening (auditory) strategy. All or some of these methods of learning can be used.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in English LIterature (double major) and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education. Over the last 15 years I have taught Literature, ESL, Communications, Social Studies, Career and Personal Planning and Foods and Nutrition.
