TMC painted two interior rooms in our house. Tim was professional, was fast while doing a quality job and cleaned up afterwards. Plus, they came back the next day to install a ceiling fan. It’s nice to have a contractor you can trust. Highly recommend TMC.Apr 3, 2019Verified
Mr. Tim Miller - TMC Contractors was fantastic to work with! He's extremely detail oriented and listens closely to what you tell him you want done. They arrived exactly when promised, and did a perfect job painting the entire inside of our 2,000 sq ft home. I would not hesitate to recommend this company to others. My realtor was quite impressed with TMC also and told us that the painting looked terrific. Our home is currently for sale and can be viewed at Zillow.com - 7802 N Amoret Ave, Kansas City, MO. Check out Tim's great - whole house interior paint work. Thanks Tim!Aug 27, 2017VerifiedTMC Contracting's reply
TMC thanks you very much. You and your wife communicated through the process which made it effortless. Thank you! we hope that your transition is a good one.
First of all TMC Contracting was very responsive to our request through Thumbtack when no others replied. We had a very short window for an interior painting project. TMC came out and look at it, recommended a better solution for conformity, which we hadn't even thought about. They gave us an estimate and told us they could meet our deadline. Even with the additional painting and a setback of one day, they kept their word and met that deadline! I am forever grateful for this company coming to our rescue in such short notice and in doing such an excellent job for us. We definitely will be calling again for our future projects. Thank you TMC!Jul 25, 2017Verified
We hired TMC for interior and exterior painting. The inside job looks good. The exterior color looks good. The windows don’t look good. This job was hard! We have 58 windows, they are 100+ years old, and all have lattice work. Window glazing was not done on the windows as stated verbally and written in the contract. The team did return promptly to glaze the windows as promised, but had to be asked, and attempted to charge us more. When they returned the windows were done poorly, and not appropriately scraped/cleaned. I rarely complain—really. Overall several things were done fast and sloppy. It felt very uncomfortable to ask for simple things to be cleaned/repaired/cleaned.Aug 9, 2018VerifiedTMC Contracting's reply
Thank you for allowing us to come back. please feel free to call us if you need anything in the future.
Initially, TMC was quick to respond to our interior paint quote and told me to message with an address and time. I did this and did not hear from anyone. I reached out again and was able to set up a day and time to receive a quote. Tim and Larry came out and measured the height of our walls and gave a competitive quote. They seemed quite professional and were polite. They said the job would take 1-1.5days. First day, they send us James. I'm sure James means well but he made way too many inappropriate comments and talked beyond what was necessary. He boasted his work and experience and we saw none of this. The job ended up taking 3 days. The work was very sloppy. James didn't remove switch plates or tape all areas. James did not prep very much at all. I had to point out many areas he missed or where there was dripped paint everywhere. I also had to remove the switch plates so that the area around them could be properly painted. There was paint on the ceiling, on switches, on the baseboards, on hardwood floors, on our new appliance, on our cabinets, in our bathtub, on light fixtures....everywhere! Tim and Larry took note of the height of our walls on the day of the quote, but James did not have scaffolding. He could barely reach the top of our walls and ghetto-rigged a paint brush with a ladder on our stairs! There was a seam in our wall that needed to be repaired and they said they would repair it for an additional $100. We said okay and let them do it. You can still see where the seam is. There is still paint we are trying to scrape off places, and many areas that need to be redone. I asked our painter to paint behind the toilet because he didn't! And it still didn't get done! While I appreciate them doing the job quicker than most, I wish the quality was there for the price we paid. I also wish our painter would have been more professional and not so inappropriate in conversation. While most people may not be home when painters are in and around their homes, I did not feel comfortable leaving my house open for this company to come and go based on my interactions with our painter.Aug 9, 2017Verified
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?I am a business owner that works with integrity and moral values. I do not price gouge and I charge only the fair market prices in the current market for the type of job I am working on. We have to calculate many costs within the pricing, such as materials, labor, etc. Each job will have its own specific requirements and fees, etc, so the pricing is calculated on a job by job basis individually. However, we do run specials and have discounts from time to time. Just give us a call and ask about our specials!
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?Just scheduling a time to meet our homeowners And discussing the project first. I will then put an estimate together and then send a formal proposal by email or in person and after that if we reach an agreement we put our homeowners project on our schedule.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?My education starts from just being in the field for so long, working with many other skilled contractors who have shown me the proper way of doing things by taking the time to show me how to do things right, when you take the time to do things right, you do not have to worry about having to redo a job because you know you already did it right the first time! This is a very important aspect, which many contractors today are not implementing, which is why many customers are having bad experiences with some contractors having to redo their jobs. Here at TMC Contracting, we ensure that all of our employees are trained to do things right the first time.
