- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have always loved technology and wires. Growing up, I had the Internet in my bedroom before my parents knew anything about the Internet, or that I had added a phone line in my room. From there it just snowballed. I've toured concert audio systems all over the world, I've done just about everything AV related residentially, and I work my "day job" as a commercial AV integration specialist for the largest integrator in the country.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
1) Not all mounts are created equal. There are significant differences between a $20 mount on Amazon and a quality mount made by Chief or Peerless. 2) Don't get fooled by "big box store" install services. Most of the time those guys are entry level guys getting paid very little to do a job they have little training for. They usually hate their job and thus don't really care about the outcome of it.
