Jerry came out and gave us a very reasonable verbal estimate but kept putting off sending us a contract, though we requested one several times. Initially it was easy to reach him when we needed to, and we went ahead and purchased all the materials he said we'd need and had them delivered. But as the time approached for the work to start, he stopped returning calls and texts. We tried many, many times to verify the start date, and finally, just wanted to know what had happened, but never heard back. We ended up scrambling like crazy to find someone else, which it looks like now we have, but it has been an extremely stressful several weeks, especially since we have had all the materials piled up everywhere all this time. I don't think Jerry is a bad person and I do believe he did originally intend to do the job, but I know he had been having some crew difficulties and that the weather was putiing him behind. But that still doesn't explain or excuse the lack of communication. A return phone call to tell us he wasn't going to be able to do the project after all, whatever the reason, was not too much to ask. Maybe he realized he had underbid the estimate. Maybe he found he had accepted more jobs than he could manage. Maybe his entire crew moved to Alaska. Who knows? We just know that, sadly, we can't recommend him and that the greatest improvement he could make would be to keep in contact with his clients.

We never had a set time to start job. Nor did we have a contract in place. I helped you get the materials on site at no charge to you. I had a bad feeling about working with you, due to you running other contractors down, and you calling me multiple times a day everyday. I’m am sorry that I didn’t just tell you to get someone else. Ended up dealing with a family emergency. Best of luck with your project.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
For the most part we do fixed cost material and labor contracts. Unless otherwise stated on contract.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Set up a consultation where we go over what there wanting to accomplish. Then we take what information we need go back to our office design and figure the project. We then either return to their home or have them come to our office. Where we go over the proposal if we come to an agreement we schedule the job.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My father is still working with us consulting he’s been doing general contracting for over 50 years. I have been running jobs for him and other companies for 18 years.
