Jerry is a smaller operation than our first builder so we were able to stay in touch with him throughout the process--he came over to do an estimate the same day (just luck) we called him, he was the one doing the work, AND he was close to a QUARTER of the cost of the builder we originally hired AND he did more work in our bathroom than that builder would've done BECAUSE he was cheaper! we helped Jerry and ourselves by acting as his "runner", just so he could stay on the job, working, if anything was needed. it's a choice a customer makes: if you want a totally hands-free contracting experience, go with spending more money on a larger firm, or spend less and be more involved in the process, on a smaller operation. he's so easy to get along with that our biggest problem was not chatting with him so much! we plan to have him do our fencing project as well, if there's still time this season (if not, then next season!). in fact, i told him that if he's still available, he'll be the one we call when we can afford to do our kitchen remodel! another thing, when you've got ONE bathroom and you're getting a bathroom remodel done, most builders wanna remove toilet immediately (makes their job easier i get it), Jerry hardly had to have our toilet removed at all (part of that was because 1st builder's worker had already done the demolition phase). lastly, one of my favorite things: Jerry produces and GIVES the customer receipts if he picks up ANYTHING from ANY store required on a job.

I actually had Jerry do two jobs for me over a couple week period. He removed all the old and damaged shower tiling in one bathroom and installed a new tub/ shower combination. He also fully replaced interior steps with new hardwood steps. Jerry was very good about providing receipts for materials and other items purchased for the work. Or he went to the store separately and picked out and set aside materials (in my case the wood, stain, polyurathane) I then ran over and purchased those. Both projects turned out well. The jobs ended up costing more than he had originally estimated as some quirks in my house were discovered. Overall it was a good experience and I would use Jerry again.
