Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: I have a 2 hour minimum. I'm available to help with odd jobs or small projects, on a part-time basis (I am self-employed, and have some spare time most weeks). I can help with… - painting projects, stucco repair, small tile or backsplash jobs, landscape irrigation repairs/maintenance, minor plumbing repairs, etc. - moving items to/from storage. - tasks that require a tall ladder (installing ceiling light fixtures/fans, changing lightbulbs). - hanging artwork, mounting shelving, moving furniture. Reasonable rates. I am NOT a contractor. I cannot perform work that, by law, requires a licensed contractor such as new plumbing installations, electrical work, HVAC, new construction. I’m simply a handy man, with some spare time to assist neighbors that need a hand with tasks around the house and yard. Please call me for an estimate and availability. I like helping people out and with that comes the satisfaction of completing a project.

This Jim is a gem of a handyman! I had him working for me intermittently over a period of almost a year on a large variety of projects related to getting my home ready to put up for sale. He also did home maintenance and odd jobs that required tall ladders and a tall strong smart guy. I always had him working on an hourly basis, which allowed me to change my mind on any given day that he was working here regarding the priority for the day, and to add or subtract things to get done as they came to my mind. Jim was extremely tolerant and adaptable to changes in my plans and priorities, and to helping me with whatever I needed done if it was within his skill set. It made me so happy to see several large projects as well as countless small tasks and annoyances that had been on my ‘to do’ lists for years .... get DONE, and get done well. The largest project he worked on was transforming a few hundred feet of my 15 year old chipped, dinged, beat up floor baseboards into looking new and snow white again; he accomplished this by selective sanding, touch-up painting, and re-caulking. Ditto with walls and doors and shelves. He repaired and then applied texture to make a fist-sized hole in the drywall completely invisible. Only the walls of the bedroom that my teenage son had inhabited needed to be completely repainted, and he accomplished that quickly and professionally. He re-caulked sinks and tubs and showers and toilets. He did some grout fill-in repairs on my travertine marble floor tiles. He has an artistic eye, and he was a wonderful help in hanging mirrors and framed artwork that had resided on the carpet or in closets for many years, and now added beauty to my home. He was equally helpful with outdoor projects including stucco repair and painting. Jim was also hugely helpful to me with multiple storage unit projects, building shelving units, taking them down to move somewhere else, rebuilding them into a different configuration, loading heavy bins and boxes onto the top shelves of even 72” high units. He has a reliable SUV if you need things moved between your home and a storage unit, or if you want him to drop off things for donation or recycling. Jim is 100% trustworthy, easy-going, pleasant and fun to work with. He shows up on time, and ready to work. I would blurt out a list of 20 new things that needed to get done, and then he organized his work time to make best use of his time, and of my time availability if needed. I had no reservation whatsoever about paying him on an hourly basis because he worked at the appropriate pace that the job required, and he often thought of time and cost saving short cuts that got the job done with the materials at hand, and without reducing the necessary level of quality. He has a great work ethic. He keeps everything clean as he works, and then he always cleans up after himself before he leaves. On a multi-day project, he organized and left his tools and materials here at the house to save time and money. It was gratifying to me to see that in the months since I wrote my original recommendation for Jim on our west-side neighborhood online community, that he was hired by many other neighbors, and received glowing reviews from them as well. Bottom line: with Jim's capable help, the condition and beauty of my home was restored, and I was able to sell my house at a price very close to the asking price.

Jim always returns my calls, showed up on time, clean appearance, polite, and reasonable fee. Most of all, recently he did an excellent job of replacing my landscape lighting!! It's worth giving him a call if you need a handyman like Jim!!
