Introduction: My therapeutic philosophy focuses on increasing self-awareness and validating emotions. My belief is that we are often ruled by thoughts and feelings that operate under the surface, and once we can recognize those we are far more capable of unlocking inner-strength, increasing validation of self, and making lasting changes. There is a wonderful healing power that comes from feeling heard and validated. You will find your own solutions, and leave feeling empowered and hopeful. In my work with couples, I help both partners feel heard and understood. I will help you uncover the unhealthy patterns that you fall into that breed disconnection, mistrust and resentment. I have been in practice for 8 years, and am highly trained. I take great pride in the work that I do and I constantly work to better myself as a therapist. I constantly hone my skills through reading, continuing education, certifications, and podcasts/seminars by therapy leaders. I love working with people in their vulnerabilities and watching as they grow in strength and confidence. The healing power of counseling is transformational, and it's an honor to be a part of it. In my work with couples, I love to see partners once torn apart by pain and resentment come together in understanding, patience, and grace. Often times, the love underneath it all is still strong, you've just gotten in negative cycles where partners are hurting each other simply because they're hurting. I dive into core attachment to help you understand and experience each other in a totally new light. Once that reframe is there, other interventions like healthy communication tools are so much easier to implement.
