Introduction: Hello, thanks for visiting! My name’s Michael Binder, I’m an experienced, professional musician and producer with a passion for teaching. I’ve been playing guitar since I was seven years old, so I thoroughly understand the various stages of learning. My primary goal with all students is to teach the songs and styles they are interested in. It’s hard enough getting started with guitar when you love the music – harder still when you don’t! My aim is to build upon your existing love for guitar music, and work towards revealing your own unique artistic sound or the level of ability you desire. I do this by taking the time to communicate and understand exactly where you’re coming from – what you already know, what you don’t, what you’d like to achieve – and progressing from here with the right tools and mindset to help you develop your skills. All genres and styles can be covered in lessons, from modern pop to blues, folk, metal and classic rock and roll. I’m a long-time fan of acts like The Beatles, Aerosmith, AC/DC, Bad Company, The Eagles, Led Zeppelin, and plenty of other rock legends from yesteryear, but I’m also vastly experienced in most other genres from the years since. I currently perform several days of the week on the Las Vegas circuit, alongside numerous local contemporary artists. Having taught for over fifteen years, all ages and abilities are more than welcome. My current students range from the very young to the very mature; and everyone in between! Lessons take place either in my Las Vegas recording studio – MGB Music – or online via FaceTime or Skype. Having played guitar since he was just seven years of age, Mike produced his first record at 14, with LA punk outfit Downfall, and toured as bassist for Chasing Furies at just 19. His journey has been one fully immersed in music, and as a result, his passion for helping artists reach their full potential, and build the skills required to excel, is unquestionable. Currently a member of the band Crush, with whom he performs three days a week at Fremont Street Experience, Binder has performed on a plethora of renowned stages, and recorded and produced hundreds of records with successful artists and YouTube Sensations alike. From Grammy nominated names like Gungor, Katie Herzig, and Rachael Lampa, to internet sensations like Tyler Ward, Lindsey Stirling and Alex G, Mike’s collaborative experience and knowledge are second to none. In addition, his time spent studying mixing with audio guru and multi Grammy-winning producer / engineer Manny Marroquin, in France, 2014, helped vastly broaden his understanding and abilities in music production. Mike plays on the Vegas strip casino stages every weekend, and appears alongside local artists like Franky Perez, Wayne Newton, Eden Stollmen, Chandiss, and Megan Ruger. In between running his own recording studio, teaching, writing and recording, Michael plays not only guitar, but bass, piano, dobro, banjo, ukulele, drums and percussion. He’s been giving private music lessons for over fifteen years, and welcomes all ages and levels of experience. His friendly, accessible approach unites with a working transparency, and a passion for allowing students to learn the songs and styles that interest them. His aim is to build upon an existing love for music, to reveal the artist’s own unique sound, and to open the door to creative expression and skill for any and all aspiring musicians.
