I founded Open Road Productions in 2012, following 25 years honing my skills as a television news reporter, news bureau chief, videographer, video producer and editor, and documentary filmmaker.
I really enjoy taking someone's complex story and turning it into an interesting feature that people love to watch!
Whether producing entertaining videos for clients, editing live events for the University of Kansas, animating complex ideas into easily understandable presentations, or working on my next interesting documentary, I approach every project with the vision of a filmmaker, a journalist’s curiosity, and an editor’s eye for detail.

I hired Open Road Productions to film an interview with b-roll. Tim was great to work with. He's professional in his communication, excellent with video production, and prompt in delivery. I was impressed with the b-roll he captured. It gave me a lot of flexibility in editing to best tell the story and ultimately led to a successful project that was shown as part of a presentation at a large conference.

Tim Phillips has true vision and creates magic no matter the project. The Olathe Public Schools Foundation has used Open Road Productions for several videos and we were always blown away with the results. Working with Tim and Open Road was a great experience. I collaborated with Open Road on several video projects, and each time, I could count on Tim to provide high-quality final products. I needed a lot of guidance--from music selection to scripting and Tim was really helpful. As a non-profit, we worked on a small budget and tight deadline, neither of which was an obstacle for Tim, which we appreciated greatly. I can't recommend his services highly enough.
