FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Our basic rate is $125 per one-hour session with a couple. We can schedule two-hour sessions when the client desires and when we can also see the need and benefit. The two-hour rate is $200. When working with only one person we discount the rate to only $90 for a one-hour session and $150 for a two-hour session. Should all parties agree a need exists AND should expectations develop among each individual party involved we can examine the feasibility of conducting sessions with larger groups. One such example might occur when we recognize a third party may be having a significant effect upon the relationship. In addition, should we and the client(s) all see the benefit in working together on a long-term basis, discounts will be offered so as to avoid creating to great a burden.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We will first talk over the phone and determine a few specifics--why the client(s) seeks help, who will be involved, any goals the client(s) might already have set, etc. After that first session, an internet session will be arranged, unless arrangements can be made in order to meet face-to-face. I currently serve in Lexington, KY. On occasion, we may offer certain pre-session activities we or the client(s) might undertake in order to enhance our sessions' effectiveness, but in most cases, the actual work will take place during the sessions themselves.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Doctorate in Ministry from Asbury Theological Seminary. This doctorate demonstrates expertise in the areas of Leadership and Cross-Cultural Ministry. I first entered ministry in September 1994, although I first became an active leader in pastoral work in 1992. This pastoral experience, coupled with "hands-on" leadership in the secular world while studying for my doctorate convinced me of the degree of isolation experienced by the majority of people in the United States as well as their desire to develop enriching relationships and to live so that their life positively affects those around them. These desires naturally conform with the skills required to lead. My method of counseling focuses on empowering clients to see beyond their immediate situation in order to fulfill these basic human goals.
