FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Every job, as well as every client, will have goals and needs unique to them and so pricing is always negotiable but standard pricing is $75/hour for photographs and $100/hour for video. Post production and editing are the same. Travel beyond 40 miles roundtrip is charged at half the hourly rate.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I usually prefer to set up a meeting where we can discuss the specific project, the client's audience, the goals of the project, timeframe, budget, etc. We also discuss factors specific to aerial drone photography such as the best time to shoot, specific shots the client would like and any professional suggestions I may have. After that we get straight to work.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I spent ten years at Fedex Office where I learned design and editing through programs like Photoshop and Illustrator. I went on to teach myself how to build racing drones from the ground up and fly them. This encompassed basic electrical engineering, flight mechanics, hundreds of hours of flight time, FAA certification and further study in photography and cinematography as well as learning Adobe Lightroom and Premiere Pro. I designed my own logo and website and all of my marketing materials. The industry is too new to have formal degrees but a love of independent learning has prepared me well for the diverse skillset it takes to be a drone photographer.
