- How did you get started doing this type of work?
As a teacher, I loved the behavioral aspect of working with children in addition to helping their families better understand what might be beneficial in assisting their child. A lot of times, the parents were also struggling, so I found herself listening and really able to empathize and hold compassion. I absolutely loved it. I always worked at Title I schools, so the majority of the students were lower socio-economic status. Furthermore, I had my own struggles when I started college...with panic and anxiety, anger, and low self-esteem. As we all are works in progress, I believe that having someone to talk to ( I had a psychologist) is extremely advantageous and can be a catalyst to the evolution of what we are really here on earth to be and do.
