FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
For custom formal dresses, pricing depends on the type of material you seek to use, the due date, and complexity of the dress made.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
For custom designs and alterations, first we must meet in person so that I can get accurate measurements. After measurements are taken, and a sketch is agreed upon, I will create an estimate of the cost of materials required to complete your look prior to purchasing your materials. I strongly encourage clients to join me to find your material, if you do not already have material chosen. I usually make a muslin, or a sample version, of your dress/garment and ask that you fit this garment FIRST before I use your actual material. For Weddings/Formalwear, this is required, as it is the best way to ensure your final garment fits as intended, and to guarantee it will be complete on time for your event.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
17 years in the fashion industry as a samplemaker.
