FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Though Renovation Roofers is always dedicated to saving our clients money, we will never do so at the expense of the quality of work we provide. The best way for a homeowner to get the best deal on the price they pay for their new roof is making sure to get the best quality roof for the best price possible. Going just by the lowest price carries the potential of only gaining a temporary savings by getting a poor quality roof that will need to be replaced less than 30 years after being installed. Or even worse, getting a contractor that is willing to skip out on carrying workers compensation and liability insurance or potentially even having a valid C-39 roofing license. Though accidents are rare, and Renovation Roofers is fortunate to have never had an accident, for the sake of our workers, compliance with the law and protecting our clients from having liability we have always made sure to maintain and carry all of the necessary insurances for everyone’s safety and protection. With Insurance costs averaging over $2500 per project, some companies will see it as an opportunity to save money in order to provide the lowest price and gain the homeowners business while misrepresenting their coverage or value of roofing they will provide. Renovation Roofers takes advantage of the volume of roofs we install each year to distribute the overhead of our monthly expenses across as many roofs as possible thus cutting down the amount we charge for each individual project. Another benefit of having a customer centered business model where we always treat our clients best interest and satisfaction as our top priority, has resulted in roughly half of our new customers being the direct result of referrals from our existing customers. For that reason unlike most companies we haven’t had to spend massive amounts of money on advertising that would then have to be recouped by the prices charged to customers. Being known as having the most affordable prices for great quality roofing services has gone a long way towards cultivating the positive reputation we have throughout the community. Working with and having direct relationships with all of the top roofing manufacturers allows us to constantly have new promotions saving our clients, %10, %20 and even up to %35 off on various roofing materials. Another way that homeowners can make sure they’re getting the best return on their investment in a new roof is by remembering to consider the differences in energy efficiency of various materials. Renovation Roofers has always been at the forefront of new technology resulting in our current expertise on energy efficiency in roofing today. Understanding the impact that different materials and ventilation techniques will have on the energy efficiency of a new roof allows us to advise our clients in ways that result in an getting the best value of energy efficiency and quality for the most affordable price. Ventilation for example is one of the many techniques by which a roof can minimize the amount of heat that accumulates in the attic and inevitably radiates on through to the rest of the house. The majority of the feedback our clients provide us with is the shock by how much lower their utility bill is and how much easier it is to regulate the temperature in their home now. - What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The introduction any potential customer gets when starting their relationship with Renovation Roofers is usually in the form of receiving their Free In-Home Consultation with one of our trained and knowledgeable Project Managers. Every consultation starts with conducting our custom developed 22-point on-site roof inspection and complimentary roof report. We start off by checking the condition of the wood decking of the roof by taking a look into the attic where the wood deck of the roof is exposed. As with everything we do for our clients, we first start off by informing them of what our process is and explaining the significance in doing it the specific way in which we do it. Checking the condition of the wood is important because every roof replacement needs to be done with permits, and the first inspection the city conducts is the “sheathing inspection” where the city inspector examines the condition of the wood surface of the roof to make sure the wood is in good condition in order to approve the installation of the new roof. Calculating the damaged or rotten wood that needs to be replaced is an expense that needs to be calculated and disclosed to the homeowner before starting any project so our clients will always know the true final cost of their roof replacement before they sign a contract or start the project. Some companies will unfortunately wait until the existing roof has been removed to bring up the sheathing inspection and requirement the city has for replacing any damaged or rotten wood, resulting in an unpleasant surprise expense for the homeowner in the middle of the project. That’s why it’s important that customers always compare apples to apples (like estimates) rather than relying on a quote that doesn’t include the full scope of work needed to comply with all of the city and state building and safety code requirements. We believe that a solid foundation to any relationship is built upon trust, and will always make sure to maintain full transparency at all times. After inspecting the attic we will proceed to inspect the surface of the roof to obtain accurate measurements, determine the number of existing layers and conduct a surface inspection to identify any troublesome areas that will be marked for additional reinforcement upon installing the new roof system. Once we conclude our 22-point inspection, each project manager will create a complimentary roof report for the homeowner on site and consult with the office to ensure any and all possible discounts have been applied in order to guarantee each potential new customer is given the lowest price possible. Prior to going over the complimentary 22-point roof report, each potential customer is presented with proof of insurance, bond, workers compensation and active C-39 Roofing License. Going over each step of the project in detail (as written in the roof report) will go a long way towards avoiding any miscommunication ensuring our customers are always informed and on the same page with every step of the project. Once each project is evaluated to ensure all possible discounts have been applied, the customer is presented with the complete report and a price quote good for 1 month. Unlike many of our competitors we prefer to give our clients the time they need to feel fully comfortable with making their decision and going through the process of having their existing roof removed and replaced with a new energy efficient Renovation Roofers roof.
