- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a BA in English from Mt. Mercy University. Obtaining this degree means I developed an outstanding ability to communicate with a wide array of audiences. I learned how to connect with others in order to understand how best respond to their needs. It was my work doing Newborn Photography at St. Luke's Hospital that led me to pursue establishing my own photography business. In addition, I've worked with children professionally as a daycare teacher for 6 years.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I discovered a great interest in photography in high school, working as Editor in Chief of our annual yearbook. For the next 8 years or so, I dabbled in some freelance work, doing mostly the odd Senior Portrait job or shooting just for fun. I reignited my passion for photography after accepting a position as Newborn Photographer at St. Luke's Hospital. It was during this period of my career that I realized I could transform my informal freelancing into a legitimate business, and the rest, they say, is history.
