FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Q: If you are a pro dog trainer with 30+ years, how come your course prices are so low? A: Because I’m at a point in my life that I feel it’s more important to reach out and make training affordable to as many dog lovers as possible, and in turn I will be helping others achieve success whether they are able to invest a little or a lot with a trainer.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
A phone consultation and/or email correspondence are Free and they will help ensure that we are all on the same page before we get started with the training process or scheduling a time for an evaluation. Meet and Greets are Free Purpose: To assess if I'm able to work with your dog and answer any questions you may have. In the end, we can decide if we can work together as team to achieve your goals. Additionally, minimal training advice will be offered during this consultation. After deciding I'm the right fit for you and your dog, you will start with one of my training courses or private training sessions. In the end, It's my goal to make the whole experience exciting and engaging for both the handler and the dog.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Currently, I am certified as an AKC CGC Evaluator. Q: How come you don't have a dog trainer's certification or title? A: These programs are great for someone who's just starting out and they are very similar to what I've learned during my 10 years in 4-H. However, the 4-H program had an extensive hands-on approach to learning; therefore, I would highly recommend it to anyone between the ages of 9-18. While in 4-H, I was a dog groomer/assistant handler, dog sitter, dog trainer, dog walker and kennel assist, and an assistant 4-H Leader. Afterwards, my own training continued as I volunteered at the shelter and helped many other dog owners pro bono. I went on to train and show professionally within the AKC community while working for other trainers and kennels. As you can see, my career choice has always been associated with dogs in some way. After school, I went on to become a veterinary assistant/tech and I was in the field for 10+ years before becoming an Instructor and author to-date.
