Melissa had the crowd laughing, crying and inspired. She took them on an emotional journey of her personal struggles and then success, and wrapped it up with how we can apply it to our daily lives so we could do the same. I highly recommend her.

FAQs

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I am currently in the top 3% of an international communication and leadership training organization. I have extensive experience with speaking in front of audiences as well as helping others learn to do so with confidence. I am currently seeking a degree in Psychology at the University of Memphis and working with veterans as they transition from the service to academic life.

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

After graduating from K9s for Warriors in 2012, I wanted to share with others the amazing benefits that service dogs can make in the recovery of veterans with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder as well as Traumatic Brain Injury. I found myself standing in front of a group of people, motivating and moving their hearts. I have found what I absolutely love to do. Considering that public speaking is the number one fear (even more than death) of most people, I couldn't imagine doing anything else. I want to share that excitement and confidence with others. I want to share my story of overcoming adversity so that others can grow and face their own lives with courage and determination to always be better than they were the day before.

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

I have worked with groups as small is a city civic group all the way up to national non-profit organizations. I have mentored many people with the development of their communication and leadership skills.
