Maia has trained both my dogs and my horses. I compete with both and they have all titled nationally in their sports.
Maia is a wonderful person, and a phenomenal trainer. I worked with her up to Grand Prix levels in dressage on my horse Dakota's Only Sun and have never had a better professional training experience. I'm a serious amateur and have been riding for 35 years, so I've seen lot of trainers! She also rode my younger dog through his conformation and obedience competitions for me, earning High in Show awards each time, including at a national show (for the best score in each level). I think the secret to her success with people and animals is that she somehow makes us all want to do our best for her, and she's right there to celebrate all the good stuff even when you don't see it. She's precise but positive. Even though I have now found another excellent trainer after Maia moved, I still write to Maia to troubleshoot strange dog behaviors, because she always comes up with good plans that improve performance without requiring threats, pain, new or harsher equipment etc.

Maia came highly recommended and SO very knowledgeable, warm and fun. She helped us train our three dogs to perfection-one as my husband's hiking and duck hunting dog, one as my 6 year-old daughter's perfect pet, and one for agility for me! They are all three years old now and people constantly comment on how well behaved, calm, and happy they are. This is because of Maia, we didn't know anything about dogs when we adopted them and were really struggling!

Maia is a terrific teacher! Her calm and encouraging demeanor sets the perfect tone for both the dog, as well as the owner, to learn. Her instructions are clear, and she gives so many helpful examples. If you get to watch her with another dog she has already started to train, it is so inspiring to see the connection this type of training creates between the dog and the trainer/owner. We began working with her even before we adopted our current rescue, and we feel that this has helped us establish a deeper connection with our new "fur baby." In my opinion, anyone who gets to work with with Maia is very lucky!

Would never recommend anyone else!! Maia is amazing, and we saw the results of our lessons from the first one! My sweet, rambunctious dog had been previously "trained" at an expensive board and train and came back anxious and aggressive and unable to be around strangers. He is now a joy to train, comfortable and relaxed around new people. When it comes to your dog, don't be cheap, hire someone who has the education and experience and knows what they are worth, you won't regret it and you'll save money not having to fix a messed up dog! I tell all my friends about her and I've seen her work wonders with their dogs too! She's even trained my mini horse and donkey!!!!!
