FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My pricing varies on the service provided but typically is between $50-60 for a private lesson. Behavior modification will involve extra fees due to the detailed training program you will receive for your dog.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
My typical process begins by evaluating the dog's basic manners and how they greet and interact with people. This tells me how confident a dog is and how much basic training they have. I then discuss goals with the client and any known history of the dog. I briefly go into how I think we should approach training the specific dog and guide the client through some basic training so they can get a feel for how I work and train. I try to explain my logic in how to train fully and make the experience very fun and rewarding for the dog.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelor's of Animal Sciences from Purdue University as well as minors in Biology, Psychology, and Anthropology. I have 10 years of experience training dogs and have recently started training Service dogs. In addition I am pursuing a Certified Canine Fitness Trainer program from University of Tennessee. With this I hope to help at risk breeds, such as labs, German shepherds, golden retrievers, etc, to avoid future injuries requiring surgery.
