Introduction: I provide high quality, professional, in-home English language instruction for adults, online. My students are from all over the world. Whether my students are professionals, their family, or students, they find themselves living in this country and needing to improve their English. I provide several short-term and long-term options for our students to achieve their language goals. I also provide emotional support for internationals who struggle with adjusting to expatriation and culture shock. I provide resources, information, education, and support. This is turn, creates confidence, which also ensures greater success in reaching learning goals. I *LOVE* working with internationals! I absolutely love the culture, language, customs, and experience they bring and share during our lessons together. If it weren't for my international students, I wouldn't be teaching English. I also love helping my students. They are so appreciative to receive the support and information. It's wonderful.

Rebecca is a amazing teacher, she can answer any questions you have, or help any problems you have. For teaching, she'll recommend books that fit you to read, and let you read through a book or whatever stuffs, then you answer some few questions for homework. Also, she will write things you don't know on the white board and explain to you with funny examples. If you are so tired, she'll let you do a little bit exercises before or in the middle of the lessons. She also bring stuffs you may interest in and ask if you need it she will lend you probably until you've done with that. I have already had for about 2 months lessons, my goal is to talk more and make friends with American students at first. I didn't talk too much at that time. Now, I'm talking much more than the first time. Here is how I learn English, when I was talking in wrong grammar or wrong words, she will correct it and I just repeat it. Its's fast and easy. I am thirteen and have been US for half a year. I think I had good progress in my English including speaking, reading and writing. And I build up self-confidence on communication.

I’m from Japan as an expat worker and my first language is Japanese. My age is 30 years old and my English level is intermediate or upper-intermediate. My learning objectives was to learn business vocabulary, grammar & slang and to improve my speaking skills & pronunciation for having a daily conversation. Rebecca is knowledgeable, professional, hard-working but friendly. She customized the class based on what I needed to work on and really tried to help me improve my English. We worked on vocabulary, grammar, idioms and pronunciation. She has experience of living in China and teaching English to a variety of students including students came from outside of the states like me.

I appreciate her teaching ESL and counseling cultural difference. She was so kind and friendly to share her experience and she was very passionate about teaching. I like my lessons. I like to do reading in my lessons. We do a lot of reading together. Also, we do meditation before starting our lesson, and exercise too. Sometimes we go outside and do our lesson or play a game.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I am currently offering only online lessons or lessons here in Mercer Island, in the evening. Online lessons are $35/hr. In-person lessons on Mercer Island are $50/hr. Weekly online or in-person lessons are great for someone whose goal is to be *Fluent*. They understand that this takes time and patience. The idea of establishing a relationship with a teacher feels rewarding and enriching to them. They enjoy seeing a teacher every week and practicing conversational skills with them.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Emailing can be easier for language learners sometimes than the phone. I can communicate at first by email or on the phone if language permits. I like to send paperwork to be filled out via email prior to our first lesson. I also request students to make a list of the things they would like to improve upon, what are their interests, and the way they like to learn (visually, through listening, or outdoors, for example). From there, we will have our first lesson where I will be testing you and just getting a feel for your language level and what you would like to focus on during our time together. Every three months after that, I will also test you to see how you are doing. I also like to check in with my students at that time to see if there is anything they would like to do differently. During the first couple weeks we will work on gathering books and supplies.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a TEFL certificate and a master's degree in counseling. I've been teaching for five years privately and also through two different companies.
