FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Though I do not deal directly with insurance companies, I supply a super bill each week to my clients after giving a diagnosis, to those who would like reimbursement from their insurance company. I am convince my pricing is much lower than the average rate for individual and especially couples/relationship counseling, though I offer a high quality of counseling and psychoeducation for each of my clients.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I take three sessions to make a thorough assessment of my clients' situation, presenting issues, and concerns. During these three sessions I always supply psychoeducational information which will assist you in working on your issues from day one. I not only have a master's degree in counseling, I have one in education as well, and have been faculty at a major university instructing graduate level students in psychology for ten years. After these three sessions, I will provide you with a detailed treatment plan which will outline the multiple goals and objectives along with the multiple treatments for each intervention. In our sessions, I follow Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) sometimes called Talk Therapy; Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) based strongly on Attachment Theory; as well as Love and Logic concepts in Family and Parenting Therapy based on this same theory; and processing trauma based on this same theory, to integrate attachment wounds using mind/body/spirit modalities; including, grounding, mindfulness, meditation and Emotional Freedom techniques.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I earned a Master's Degree in Professional Counseling from Argosy University in 2006 and have been a Licensed Associate Counselor in the State of Arizona since that time. I also earned a Master's Degree in Education in 1996 and am a certified teacher in the State of Arizona. I am a member of the faculty at a large university in the Phoenix area were I instruct graduate level students in the area of psychology, communication, and general studies.
