Introduction: I am a United States Marine Corps Veteran. I served 6 years active duty and 5 years in the reserves. I Participated in Operation Desert Shield/Storm. I am now a retired police officer and found another full time job to stay busy.
I have always been interested in photography since I was in the Marines. I did not take it seriously until a handful of years ago when I purchased my first DSLR camera. I started watching YouTube videos and reading magazines and books to better my knowledge. I love being able to capture a moment to make it last forever. There is a satisfying feeling of knowing that my images will be displayed for years on people’s walls, computers, phones, and anywhere else.
I started out taking photos of animals, nature, flowers, and still objects. When it was time for Senior Pictures for my daughters, I really could not afford to pay for them so I decided to do it on my own. I have taken all 3 of my children’s Senior Pictures and they turned out great. I later started advertising my photography and started shooting actual clients. After a couple years, I got my first Wedding and then I was hooked. I wanted to do more Weddings because every wedding is different and no images would ever be the same.
For me, photography is a way to connect and capture them in a way they have never seen themselves. Story telling through art and getting to work with couples that are in love, families wanting to freeze time, and individuals that just want to celebrate themselves is an honor. Seeing clients genuine reaction as I capture their important moments makes me feel so lucky to say this is my career. So, shoot me an email and lets make your important day happen!

We lived working with James. His response times to our concerns were very quick. Very easy to communicate with. Photos that were taken turned out to be perfect memories! James has done multiple shoots with our family and would give 5 stars everytime!

My family has trusted JJ Photography with many important times in our lives! James is always very professional, creative, and friendly. James is great at putting everyone at ease, and always has a joke or two to crack. (No forced smiles, here!) He thinks outside the box and finds the best places for beautiful photos.
