FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My prices are extremely reasonable as I started my business in the recession and have only increased them gradually as I understand money is important to people. 1) In Home Consultation to go over everything and make sure we are all on the same page costs $15 and is usually an hour. Thanks 2) Evaluation price starts at $35 for an hour or more (one hour only for puppies, more time for older dogs) of just me spending time with your dog as I need to earn their trust and respect in order to train it and show you what works best. This evaluation usually starts with a walk and then some indoor time and any other tests depending on the goals. 3) Training cost starts at $55 per session (an hour or more. If you have multiple dogs then I add $20 per dog. I do consider people and their timelines, but training is considerably dependent on the owners efforts to actively perform each day. 4) There is an occasional cost for tools such as a Head Collar, slip leash, or other things needed to help training go well which are the owner’s responsibility.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
All questions and answers are preferably discussed during an in home consultation (sometimes a phone conversation prior) so that I can meet the pet parent(s) as well as meet the pet(s) who are in need of care and training. This costs $15 for my time and gas/tolls. If all goes well, my agreement is signed by both parties and work can start immediately. If training is the reason, I arrange for an evaluation between myself and the canine(s) to be done without the owners presence as dogs will generally show behavior to me and it’s also my way of seeing what corrective measures will work. This costs $35. Then training is arranged and we all work together to eliminate bad behavior and encourage good behavior. The timeframe of training sessions is at least an hour to an hour and a half depending upon the dog’s attention span. I advocate for at least 3 sessions not including the evaluation, so that the main aspects of a dogs life are covered. For more serious cases, I’d opt for a 6 session or more training regime. The cost for puppy training is $180 for the 3 session package ($60 for additional). The cost for adult dog obedience is $225 for a 3 session package ($75 for additional). For aggressive behavior training it is $270 for 3 session package ($90 for additional). I do offer a military discount.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
