FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My prices are higher than other fees you may be quoted but you're going to get top quality work by an industry veteran. And because the work will be done right the first time, I offer good value. I get a lot done in very little time. Your book/speech/web copy will sparkle. I'm worth it, and so are you. - What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We schedule an intake conversation in which I find out what your goals are: who you want to reach, what you want to say and how quickly you need the work done. I find out from you how you like feedback delivered: on the document or in a phone or video call. I get an idea of the level of editing you want (light or heavy). From that one conversation I also get an idea of your learning style so that I know how to deliver feedback and in general how best to work with you.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I worked for 20 years at some of the big publishers: Dell/Delacorte, Random House, Avon Books and Bantam Books. I learned from the founders of all these publishers and was trained by some of the best-known editors in the business. In addition my college degree is from NYU in film and that taught me a lot about good storytelling.
