Is literally ALL I can say about CookUnity! This IS New York's "BEST KEPT SECRET", and hopefully it won't remain a secret for much longer!
Let's start from the beginning, Im an Event Coordinator, and I've been scouting for caterers for two upcoming events. So here I am using ThumbTack for the very first time, which was very different in itself, as I'm so accustomed to being the one who researches companies so that I can present to my clients, but now I'm having the opportunity to sit back, while these same companies now bid for the chance to "win" my event, sought of speak, It's quite exhilarating. And that's how I came in contact with CookUnity, and the lovely Pilar, who's a customers "DREAM". PILAR IS AN AWESOME ASSET TO THIS COMPANY, and should be rewarded! THANK YOU PILAR, you made an experience that I was skeptical about and turned it into on of the highlights of the day, so caring, honest and professional. And I, We, appreciated everything you did for us.
Pilar was awesome within our brief interactions, she explained the companies purpose and led me to the website to continue my research. She stayed with me during the ordering process and assisted me with purchasing some of the best meals. As I began looking through the site, I was AMAZED at the amount of choices CookUnity offered. 55 chefs, with over 50 different items to choose, from gourmet meals, beverages, treats and other delectables, all organic, gluten free, locally sourced all for A RIDICULOUSLY LOW FEE!!! Now you tell me where you can find a gourmet meal with all the trimmings for $15.00 dollars or more, there is no restaurant ANYWHERE that is able to do that, especially not in New York, and on top of that THEY DELIVERED IT TO MY FRONT DOOR!!!! I WAS BEYOND SHOCKED!!!
Now let's get to the food... we were a bit hungry (greedy...lol), so we ordered ALOT of FOOD!!
We order the following:
2 NY Strip Steak with Scallop Potatoes
2 Maple Mustard Salmon with Kale (DELICIOUS) & Sweet Potatoes
2 Mushroom & Spinach Crepes
2 Brown Rices
2 Green Beans with lemon zest
2 Roasted Vegetables
2 Walnut Blondie
2 Chocolate Fudge Brownies,
4 Chocolate Cookies
2 Organic Mint Lemonades,
And 2 Rosemary Pear waters.... WHEW!!!
AND WE ATE IT ALLLLL!!! There were EMPTY cartons EVERYWHERE!!! I kept one for my wife so that she could take to work the next day and she was highly amazed that it was still fresh after overnight refrigeration.

CookUnity is amazing! Chef Edward Rodwell, a french independent and experienced Chef, was in charge of our party of 15, in occasion of husband's birthday dinner last December 16th 2016. He arrived half an hour before the event, with a big smile on his face, and arranged everything very nicely. We had a three course meal of haute french cuisine. Edward specially designed the menu according to our preferences and dietary restrictions (my husband is under a strict gluten free diet) and every detail was so perfect that it end up being a lovely festive dinner... We had a delicious salmon tartar to start (cold, fresh and yummy) and then a warm stew, since the space didn't have an oven, it was a good plate to warm up on the burners. The steak stew was prepared with a side of tasty mashed cauliflower and green beans. And he prepared a chocolate gluten free dessert that was unbelievably good. After the last course, he cleaned the hole space and left half an hour later. Impecable. I couldn't be more happy and pleased with my experience. You won't regret it, they are fabulous!
