Amanda works with my son who is in 6th grade. We live in Shanghai and he is really excited to work with her 3 times a week on English, history and his writing skills. They talk about books and she is great with improving his writing and grammar skills. She really goes for topics that excite him like sports and science. It's great to have a private teacher for my son he is going past grade level with this extra learning and practice each week.

I went through a couple other tutors before I found Amanda and it really worked out well from there on out. English is not my first language and I needed help with essays and a research paper for school. We also work on my speaking skills and grammar. She is really positive and flexible and encourages you. I have been with her for a year and my grades went up from that experience.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
In general my hourly rate is $35 but I do packages with 10 or more lessons at 10% off.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
My service is personal and tailored so we start with an assessment to identify the "need" areas for each student. I will focus on on where you need the most support and we will have a goal to reach together for measurable results.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a BFA from Columbia. I am also a published fiction writer and working on a non-fiction book that draws on my travel adventures, right now.
