Introduction: Hi. As an independent rabbi, I am completely open to working with Jewish, interfaith as well as non-Jewish couples. What's most important to me is that you are able to create a wedding ceremony that will truly reflect your values, goals, wishes and traditions. I am also happy to co-officiate your wedding if that's what you need. I find Judaism has great wisdom to share if you want to look for it. However, the exclusive quality of much of Jewish experience can sometimes be quite off-putting and alienating. I really strive to make everyone feel included and appreciate the beauty in Judaism without experiencing that feeling of being an outsider. The most enriching part of this work for me is helping two people who are in love find the best way to express that feeling at a critical point in their life together. Putting on a wedding can be very stressful. My goal is to make creating your ceremony as easy as possible. Together, we'll get it just right.

My husband and I each have a Jewish parent and a Christian parent; so, we were hoping to have an officiant from both the Jewish and Christian faiths marry us in partnership -- as "co-officiants". We were very fortunate to be introduced to Kenny Hahn through a close family friend. We set up a phone call with him, which turned into an hour conversation and an in-person meeting shortly thereafter. It was clear to us immediately that Kenny was the right person to represent us and our Jewish heritage and identity. He is open, warm, accepting, and knowledgeable. He spoke freely about his experiences with Judaism, and asked thoughtful, respectful questions of us and our experiences with Judaism. He will be the trusted adviser we turn to for guidance when thinking about how Judaism fits into our lives moving forward. Kenny worked in true partnership with our Christian officiant, and each treated the other with respect and grace. It was the perfect representation of how our two faiths have been interwoven in our lives. Thank you Kenny!

I am still glowing from the ceremony and celebration. Rabbi Kenny's words and guidance leading up to and during the event went so far beyond my expectations and spoke such truth about the essence of marriage in general and specifically to what he rightly recognized as the essence of our particular marriage (one partner very keen on encompassing Jewish traditions and spiritually reworking the poetic Hebrew of each and every prayer + one spiritual non-Jewish partner who welcomed a newfound appreciation for the universal aspects of the Jewish tradition). Throughout the wedding-planning period, I found a renewed awe in Jewish (inspired) spirituality and ritual - for spirituality in general, awe and love that will clearly set the tone for me and my beloved's many years together. There is no doubt that this renewed inspiration owes itself both to the unique and beautiful approach to spirituality that Rabbi Kenny shared with us in our conversations and learning sessions leading up to the ceremony as well as to the incredible openness, insight and vision shown by my non-Jewish partner throughout this journey. I am so very grateful and am honored to recommend the warm, intelligent, insightful, eloquent and inspirational Rabbi Kenny.

In our dream scenario of a “perfect wedding” we wanted first, of course, love that would last. Given that my fiancé and I we were confidently ready for married life, what else would be important to us for our wedding? We knew that we wanted to be in a place surrounded by family and close friends, with beautiful gardens, enchanted with classical music, and enriched by palpable Jewish spirit. We wanted a ceremony that would celebrate our love, nurture our Jewish souls and begin our married life with true warmth, tradition, and loving spirit. Rabbi Kenneth Hahn brought this dream to reality and we can never thank him enough! From our first meeting, Rabbi Hahn talked to us about our spiritual interests. How much tradition did we want in our ceremony, who should participate, what readings/prayers were important to us, would we recite vows or read our Ketubah, and what were our time requirements. He made sure that we had a chance to think about what was comfortable for both of us and what we might want from him. He made sure that we were going to enjoy our service. We met and talked several more times and together planned the content and logistics of the ceremony. We were totally prepared long before our actual event and this substantially reduced our stress and made the wedding something to look forward to. Rabbi Hahn successfully orchestrated our rehearsal so that our bridal party (which included teenagers and small children) would go off without problems or anxiety. Everyone was prepared and totally excited! When the actual ceremony took place, it was indeed “perfect” and magical. The love and Jewish spirit that we wanted to share was beautifully present and we felt blessed by our Rabbi, family and friends. With sincere gratitude, Sherri Meade and Ian Smith June 26, 2016

When my now-husband and I were planning our wedding, we knew it was important to have the ceremony reflect warmth and intimacy as well as include some traditions from our varied backgrounds. My husband was raised in a Jewish household, and we wanted elements of the Jewish culture represented. For us, we ended up with a ribbon chuppah, breaking the glass at the end of the ceremony and Ken Hahn acting as our rabbi, performing a blessing over wine and conducting a portion of our marriage ceremony. Ken was a truly amazing addition to our service and incredibly open to our unconventional ideas of how we wanted the ceremony to go. His generous spirit helped to put me at ease on day when most brides feel overwhelmed with stress. Ken happens to be related to my husband, which was also a plus for us because we wanted an intimate service; however, I feel we got lucky by finding him in such an easy way. He approached the service preparations with detail and helped us to feel Jewish traditions were respected and honored in our marriage ceremony.

We feel so lucky to have had Rabbi Hahn officiate our wedding ceremony and couldn’t have found somebody more perfect to help us start our new chapter together. We were searching for a Rabbi who would conduct a Jewish wedding for an interfaith couple while creating an environment that was personal and accessible to people of all faiths. That’s exactly what Rabbi Hahn did and then some. Throughout the entire experience, Rabbi Hahn was open, supportive, thoughtful and responsive. He made us feel perfectly at ease from our first conversation. He took us through all of the elements of a Jewish wedding and helped us plan a ceremony that incorporated tradition and our love story. If ever we had a question, he was there with the answer and thoughtful followup questions. He kept us on track planning our ceremony, offered text options and feedback on our ketubah and made sure we had everything we needed on the day of. And beyond the important logistics, he helped us stay grounded and in sync with each another in the midst of planning, keeping our love for one another at the forefront of every conversation. On the big day, Rabbi Hahn did the most wonderful job welcoming and bringing our family and friends into the ceremony. He was warm, joyful, genuine and inclusive, explained traditions that may have been unfamiliar to some and got everyone ready to shout mazel tov! He made it such a beautiful, intimate and special ceremony. We can't recommend him highly enough. Thank you, Rabbi Hahn!
