Prior to hiring them, they came to my house and gave me an estimate for installation of hardwood flooring and a new staircase in my house. We discussed the materials I would need to purchase, including the spindles, bullnose for the stairs, handrails, and all other necessities for a staircase. I told them I intended to install wrought iron spindles. We also discussed that they would have to stain the bullnose & handrails, etc. to match the floors. Michael assured me it would match perfectly. The quote they gave me specifically stated that it included: "stairway/landing (x2), railing/spindle plus accessories installation, and demo/removal/disposal - all materials." The bill I received was approximately $1700.00 more than the estimate. When I asked for an explanation, I was sent an itemized list of the additional cost. That list included: "wrought iron saw blade - $86.18, rags & brushes - $47.77, dump fee - $225.00, custom cut spindles - $325.00, staining of bullnose, vents, handrails, & posts - $625.00, & additional overhead time - $185.00." The spindles, vents, staining & disposal of debris were all discussed prior to the original estimate. The additional overhead time wasn't explained in detail. However, the stain they initially put on the stairwell didn't match the floors. They restained a portion of it, but it still isn't correct. It appears as though I was charged an additional $185.00 because it wasn't done correctly the first time; and I was never told that I would have to purchase the equipment (saw blade) with which to do their job. Two months later, the job is still not finished.

Additional cost was added due the request of Ms. King to want additional work performed. Including adding custom design features and materials that required our purchase. We gave her the final invoice in witch she reviewed for several days and then made a payment to us with out any questions or concerns. She only after we were wrapping it up decided she had paid to much. Ms King would not meet with us nor speak so that we could reach a mutual agreement. We made several attempts to work with her through out entire processes.
