FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My charges are based upon the forms filed. Once we are able to determine your needs I will be able to give you a firm price. Basically if you are single and have only W-2 income and no dependents, your base price would be $50. If you have additional items (such as a home mortgage, dependents, possible Earned Income Credit, childcare, etc.) then your price will be determined upon the additional forms. The same holds true for the other base prices noted.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Upon being contacted I will connect with new customers via phone to first of all determine what their needs are. I go over a checklist to make sure that what I will be required to file for them is covered in our understanding of what their tax return will be consisting of and then a price will be established. We will then discuss our method of getting the information to me in order for me to prepare returns.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I was involved heavily in tax preparation several years ago when I was working for a CPA. I was an enrolled agent; this means I was able to represent clients before the IRS. Fast forward...I have been with a property management company for the past twenty years. I am an accountant with the firm. I started back in 2012 to prepare taxes again. I work from home when I'm not working my full time job. I have, of course, satisfied all requirements of the IRS and the state of California in order to prepare taxes and electronically transmit.
