Introduction: Brittany Phillips is a multi-format photographer based in Oklahoma City, OK. Areas of focus for her practice include fashion and editorial work, but she is also known for putting her unique touch on weddings and other special events. Her work has been commissioned by companies such as Free People and Slack Jaw Apparel, and publications including Territory Magazine, in which her work was featured as the cover photo for their 2016 spring issue.
Working in the medium for six years now, Brittany’s become known for featuring the human body at the center of her work, often directing poses and scenes that conceptualize a theme. These themes can be part of a story that either she herself is telling, or one her client has suggested. Drawing upon a wide range of inspiration, from music to human connection, her photos deliver emotion that can prompt contemplation, but that can also sell a product. Shots captured in candid fluidity preserve the natural beauty of her subject, while her own creative command adds compliment through intentional direction on set and a consistent, refined touch during the editing process. Brittany produces a final result in which her subject’s physical and abstract beauty span the entire dimensions of a single frame. Her work will continue to promote respect for the timeless ability a photograph has to preserve moments.
