Introduction: My name is Ellen Klein and I have a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Iowa State University and I absolutely love helping students get comfortable with, and learn Math.
I worked for Sylvan Learning Center in Illinois for 2 years until I moved abroad to Switzerland in January of 2015. Early this past summer I moved back to the US (Nebraska) and would love to continue helping students grow & learn!
For Sylvan I taught Math, Advanced Math, Reading, Study Skills, aided students through Homework Help (including all subjects through high school, as well as some college level statistics/chemistry/math), helped multiple home school students and enjoyed being the ACT Prep Class math teacher, and subbing for ACT science.
Additionally, I tutored one on one for the Math portion of the ACTs to help raise scores, helped adults learn to read and study to get their GEDs, monitored Sylvan placement exams and checkpoint tests, as well as administered and scored ACT practice tests.
Lastly, for the city of Champaign through Sylvan I was the 4th grade lead instructor for 3 semesters of their ACE IT! program which is a intervention focused reading after school program.
I am able to help students get caught up in class, stay on top of class lessons, or even get ahead!
I am able to go over any past homework or tests students struggled with, find similar new problems for students to work on or work on current homework with students.

I absolutely love helping students get comfortable with, and learn Math. I love seeing students score higher then they ever have on the ACTs and I love seeing all ages gain confidence and succeed in a subject that a lot hate and see as daunting!
