FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I charge $50 per hour or $38 for a 45-minute session for a one-on-one individualized instruction that's designed to meet each student's specific needs after a diagnostic teaching assessment is performed.Tutoring companies generally provide group tutoring, usually with three students in each group, or one-on-one tutoring. My fee is less for one-on-one tutoring than major tutoring companies charge.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
A parent is typically referred to me by another parent, a teacher or a principal. We discuss on the phone my qualifications, price, the reason they are seeking tutoring and remedial strategies I think would benefit their child.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelor of Science in Education with a major in Special Education and a minor in psychology. I also have a Masters of Education with a major in Learning Disabilities. I have worked in the public schools for over 20 years as a special education teacher. I have also served as a reading consultant at two Catholic schools.
