FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Yes. My pricing depends on the content, format and length of the program. I always offer a first free assessment and consultation. I offer individual instruction, small group instruction, Intensive Retreats. Choose in person or online sessions - or a combination of the two. Write me and I'll send you a price sheet.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We start with an initial consultation. I make recordings of you speaking with me. Later I analyze these recordings and determine the most important sounds of the English language that we will work on to give you the quickest progress. A full program usually takes 8 to 12 weeks. This is really only an average. Depending on how often you wish to have instruction and whether there are other related goals (eg.public speaking) to be accomplished, it may take us another couple of weeks. But this is entirely up to you and your needs. We will make the timing clear right from the get-go so there are no surprises. What do we do in any given session? My method relies on a blend of several tried and true approaches: building your auditory acuity; developing the muscles of your mouth; breathing techniques to extend your range; relaxation; drilling around 15+critical sounds until they become second nature to you; acting scenarios; projecting your voice; role plays relevant to your needs, etc. We will use YOUR relevant business or school vocabulary as a basis for our practice. You'll be expected to practice daily. As they say: practice makes perfect! You will receive recordings of the sounds of American English that are yours to practice with. These will be available online anytime you wish to practice. Over the weeks you (and others) can expect to hear a noticeable improvement in the clarity of your speech. You will feel confident in areas you had not been. Your results will be measured. The same thorough analysis of your speech will be made 2 more times. This will give you a measurable and objective picture of your results. Best of all, though, you'll be feeling confident speaking English!
