FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I am open to pricing jobs at a flat rate or hourly rate, depending on the type of job and the needs of the client.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
At the beginning of each project, I like to spend some time talking about expectations: what the customer wants to accomplish, what they have tried in the past that did not work and what the time frame is. Making sure we are on the same page from the beginning will help avoid confusion and frustration during the project. I also like to set benchmarks and check in dates to make sure both parties stay on track working toward an on-time completion.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have worked as a meeting professional at a statewide professional association for the past 11 years. In this capacity, I was responsible for planning and executing a number of meetings and events. These included four board meetings a year (including several in international locations), a strategic planning session each spring for association leaders, and an annual award ceremony and dinner. I also produced an annual high school educational program that involved 500 participants and 200 volunteers. These events all involved negotiating hotel contracts, setting up food and beverage, monitoring hotel room pickup, working with restaurants and entertainment venues, and dealing with last minute schedule changes and the unexpected. In a volunteer capacity, I have organized college alumni gatherings and assisted with a variety of events and fundraisers for nonprofit organizations.
